Sales
people and Hitman Job!
Sometimes
I feel sales people are undercover hitmen! They keep watching the customer
through their spyglasses, seeking his point of weakness and then BANG! The
customer Drops dead! Poor customer… but no, actually the hitman is the poor
one, customers’ will definitely have a better place in heaven of what they face
with sales people and C.S agents but that is a delayed story to be discussed;
Our
poor hitman planned the whole job just to empty the customer’s pockets, seeking
anything he may find with him, maybe just 5 pounds, maybe 50 pounds! But he
simply didn't know that the dead body in front of him owned castles, fleet of
cars or maybe just a long list of other possible “TARGETS!” and our hitman will
reach none of all of this!
That’s
how I personally describe what goes around with sales people, they only want to
sell! Regardless of the customer’s real need, & even if the customer will
figure out their lies once he gets home, starts using the product and feels
disappointed, regardless of how many times he will share his bad experience
with everyone he knows, his friends, family, even his car mechanic, and with
one click on the post button on FB or Twitter, The company/brand life is OVER!
Actually this whole problem is not only the
sales people mistake, actually they are the least to be blamed, It’s their
supervisor’s problem and the management problem, How is that?! It’s your
problem dear business owner who could not make these sales people understand
how precious the customer is when alive, NOT when dead! Meaning: long
relationship with customers is far valuable than the hit& run job that
sales staff do! It’s your problem Mr. supervisor who couldn't put a well
designed process for tracking what your staff do, a work environment and an understanding
that makes them feel passion in what they do, make them give the customer a
truthful smile not a fake one! It’s your problem dear management who couldn't
deliver your main vision to all those who work in your company, and preferred to
lock it in your own treasury box! That doesn't mean that sometimes it’s the
sales people problem, but again if so, Mr. Supervisor, what did you do about
that?!Nothing! You just felt happy with the sales records they made, and
overlooked the long run side effects!
Guys, do not blame the customer now if he was
smarter than you are and figured the whole game out, at the end he will find
his what’s like “witness protection program” in our case it shall be “Customer
protection program”, which will be your competitor’s brand who truly cared for
him and that’s when you won’t even get the 50 pounds that are in his pocket!
